Islamic Dirham? A.D. 961-1002 [solved]

5 posts
Hello,
I recently purchased this Islamic silver coin. It was labeled "Islamic Silver Dirham A.D. 961-1002"

It seems extremely large for the Dirhem's that I have come across. Also, due to being heavily worn, it is difficult to read.

Silver (Tested)
12.1 grams
46.5 mm maximum diameter
Approximately 1 mm thick

Any information offered for a positive attribution or references to help with an attribution would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

of course its too heavy for dirhem, -Idont know what it is, looks like only word is " AQBAR" which is visible...

perhaps better contrast can help?

Word visible at top in the first photo is اقبال. This is considered the reverse side.
Numerous variations in the legends make it difficult to be more precise with this coin. The weights for examples in SNAT vary from 9.49 to 16.25g. There are contemporary imitations.
numisquare - Thank you very much! With your information I was able to find many that are similar.

Your help is very much appreciated.
