Help identification and suggestion for ultrasonic cleaning. A possible Roman coin [solved]

Hello everyone, I got this coin from a man who detects coins with metal detector. He found it on the Istrian peninsula in Croatia. Does anyone know what this can be. Anyone recommend to clean it in ultrasonic cleaner? Or any other cleaning method?

Interesting coin. I can't help with the ID, but having placed many coins in an ultrasonic bath can comment on that. It wouldn't hurt but I also don't think it would help a lot. Together with brushing, ultrasonic cleaning could remove some of the soil-like accretions around the edges, but I doubt if that would significantly improve the readability of the coin. It probably wouldn't remove much of the blue/green accretions.
Considering it's size and weight I think it's medieval not Roman. A Roman coin that size should be heavier and thicker. In my opinion it's medieval Italian, most likely a Venetian sold or gazzetta which are common near the Croatian coast. I don't think this coin can be cleaned enough to exactly identify it.
I collect and deal in ancient Roman coin. In case you're looking for affordable ancient coins or need any help with the coins you already have send me a message.
Thank you all for help and answers.I will mark this as closed.
