20 ruble 1992 new sub type or error?

I found 20 ruble 1992 with smooth edge (no weak segmentation as in some coins may be) and its diameter is a bit smaller also. It is non magnetic as it should be in 1992 strikes. Any info about this?



In first pic this coin is left side (thick rim) and in another pic right side (smooth edge).
Perhaps this coin was 'trimmed' 0.5 mm to let it pass for a German D-Mark. This was done at considerable scale to Polish 20 zł coins of the same diameter, see the comments on this page:

That would be the most obvious explanation indeed as diameter is short.
Such things were made to use the coins instead of metro tokens in Saint-Petersburg.

That sounds even more plausible. So it's post mint damage anyhow, but one with a story behind it. I would keep the coin!
