Between $60 and $100. The original case is a big plus. There is one for sale on eBay for $59 without the case. It looks more EF than the UNC the seller claims, looks like a verdiris spot on the reverse.
Thanks Phil! I did take a look and I agree. The one on eBay is the same as mine, but does not look UNC. Can you help with either of the other two I'm struggling with?
I can't find a price for the silver medallion in any of the usual places. If I had to take a guess I would say no less than $100 but as anything Rhodesian attracts a premium and these are both rare and beautiful.... well the sky is the limit really.
I would suggest trying a few specialist medal dealers and see if they will give you a "sight unseen" quote. Most dealers insist on having the item in hand before offering an opinion. They claim it's because of the nuances of grading but the cynic in me thinks it's to stop people from price shopping.
Keep in mind the price a dealer will offer is at best about 50% of what they will sell it for. The price for peer to peer trades is somewhere between those two numbers.
If all else fails, search google images. Use the inscription first, if that fails search the most generic terms you can think of for the main design. e.g crown, tree, crossed swords.... I've identified dozens of mystery coins that way.
Non illegitimis carborundum est. Excellent advice for all coins.
