Because you have a strange coin. The coin should be a brass coin (https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces1698.html) and yours definitely isn't. And there is no other than the brass coin in Krause.

You are right when you said it is strange, but I could not agree when you state "definitely isn't a brass coin", because the picture is a little dark, so it is a little difficult to point it with 100% of sure.
Ok, thank you for your comment. I'll keep looking for an explaination.
Regards.

Let me correct myself. When I look at your picture I would say it's definitely not a brass coin. But I know, due to lightning for example, pictures not always give the correct image.
But even when it is a brass coin, it remains strange because that date isn't in Krause, and never was. I also checked earlier editions of Krause and that date was never there.
That is why I sent this doubt to forum. At first moment, I tought I had wrongly identified this coin, but the others points used to identify the coin match...

it's strange it exits in 1376 and 1378 but not 1377? maybe 1377 is a rare date?
Can you post a clearer pic of the date? is the 2nd "7" different than the 1st "7"?
Slightly different.
It is a more "open" V (7).

Quote: "celgardino"It is exactly like these two pictures.
I wouldn't say it's exactly like these two pictures.
The left picture is the date on your coin, the right picture is the date on the 100 Riyals coin. On the 100 Riyals coin all the digits are the same, sharp and equal in height. On your coin the 4th digit (and that's precisely the digit that is not in Krause) is not as sharp as the other three and higher.
If that means anything, I don't now, I only observe. Your coin stays a mystery for now.
I agree with Essor Prof, and that's my reason behind mentioning the shape of the digit.
It "could" be a fake. We don't know. Just giving out thoughts and observations
