My primary collection is circulating coins, which I have in cardboard 2x2s, in the usual 4x5 sleeves in A4 binders.
I've just started on British £5/Crown coins, which at the moment I keep in airtites in a box, and my tertiary collection is random "coins" like the commemorative ones from the London Mint, the "postage only" freebies, not worth a great deal, but I get them because I like the look of them, I also include fake Pandas and other replicas.
The question is how to store these coins.
I'm thinking for the £5 and crowns in a tray maybe, but storage space is an issue for me.
And for the other "coins", I was half thinking some cheap reusable slabs? So I had some space to document where they came from and when, as not all the coins are dated, or have a place of origin (mainly because they're not "real coins"!).
As an aside, I think I'm slightly OCD as I like to see everything uniform, so having a box of random sized airtites is doing my nut, hence the need for a uniform size to hold all the others I have, but I'm cheap so I don't want to spend more on the holders than I do on the coins.
In the UK, the price of ringed capsules, quadrum holders, and proper slabs are quite prohibitive, so any cheap alternatives or other suggestions for storage would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
PS. And before anyone says I shouldn't be collecting that cheap junk anyway, I know, each to his own and all that, I just like the look of them.
