That's a very cool collection, Zac! I like how you also put some common coins on your list, it's nice to see that people can enjoy coins just by the way they look and not by their price tag.

I also love this James III Groat
Its not a particularly beautiful coin but it is the first coin minted outside of Italy that features a realistic renaissance style portrait.
My favorite coins are from Bengal Sultanate. Below are some from the reign of Sikandar Shah

I think it's gorgeous, the level of detail is amazing especially when you think of the equipment they were working with at the time!
The other coins are just stunning.

Its a nice coin but I don't think it compares to the later coinage of James V, Mary Queen of Scots and James VI.
Its a fascinating coin. It was definitely the first coin with a renaissance bust minted in the British isles (I have seen one source that claims that it is the first coin of its kind minted outside of Italy but I don't know enough about continental coinage to confirm this for sure). It doesn't appear to have caught on as the coinage of James IV is entirely composed of coins with the old medieval style forward facing bust (perhaps this was a symbol of contempt for his unpopular predecessor).

How would you guys grade these? XF I'd say?
Those are some beautiful coins. Just out of curiosity, what is the edge like on the George IV penny and halfpenny? I've been wondering if they have the same edge as the George III Soho coppers for a while.
George III Penny
James V Plack
Empress Elizabeth 10 Kopecks
Empress Elizabeth 25 Kopecks
William III and Anne Shillings
Napoleon 5 Francs
Alexander III Pennies

I got to hold a few of them at the British Museum a few weeks ago. They are incredible, especially the Elizabeth I milled gold coin. Its definitely the most beautiful coin that I've ever held, absolutely stunning.

Does the British Museum actually sell coins from their collection? I never knew that, I wonder why they do that!

I dont think its giraffe :)
More likely pigeon looking left or something else from birds. Just rotate. Animal-shaped coins was in oractice sometime in Georgia of that period, but never desxribed with Tamar reign. only in her son, Giorgi IV - Lasha`s one. Thats why this coin is very, very interesting. maybe even unique.
I just love the patina on this coin I even have a higher grade coin of the same type and year but I like this one much more.
Nikolai I - 5 Kopecks 1833
Same thing here I just love the patina and the verdigris scattered unevenly over the coin, it looks circulated but it's still a very nice looking coin.
France
Napoleon III/3rd Republic - 5 Francs 1870
I just love this pair and I feel like I don't even have to explain why
Belgium
Leopold II - 5 Francs 1869
The slight luster combined with the only slightly worn details with the patina looks perfect, I wouldn't trade this coin even for an UNC double.
My favorite coin from my type album, maybe not in his finest grade but i love this copper design, instead the silver one (wich can be seen in the background), both circulated during the 20's until 1945, the silver ones where used mostly in the cities and the copper ones in the small rural villages

Do you want to create a new topic for tokens as well?! I have some favourites.
As you did this coins one and the banknotes one.
And maybe create another for stamps.
