Post stamps - need some help with a large collection

5 posts
Hello,

I recently came across a large collection of post stamps, around 500 to be exact. Most of them as far as I can tell are pre-1950. As I know nothing about post stamps I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of some site where I can ID stamps and learn their value, something like NGC is for coins?

I have no real interest in stamps so I'll most likely end up selling the lot but would first like to figure out a rough value.

Here are, to me, some of the more interesting pages in the album if someone would like to take a look:

Other then these there are also a large amount of Hungarian, Czechoslovakian, Romanian and Belgian stamps and some USSR, French etc stamps, if someone is especially interested in any of those let me know.

This old Hungarian stamps album was also in the lot, it's only around 20% complete if someone is interested in the content let me know:

Also, there was a matchbox collection in the mix, mostly old Hungarian and Czechoslovakian. I have no idea if anyone still collects those but if anyone knows anything about it please let me know.

I appreciate any help you can give me, a big thanks you in advance!

Do not argue with ignorant people .. !! They will drag you down to their level, then pulverize you with experience ...
I don't know of any online resources, but the basic guide for stamps is the Scott Standard Postage Stamp Catalog (it has six volumes). However, be careful of the pricing provided in the books, stamp values have gone down tremendously over the last decade.
I wish I could see more details, there's a lot going on in the photos and they're not huge, but I definitely see some nice examples of revalued German stamps from the Weimar Republic. (first photo)

I recently saw sets of those (around 8-12 per set) going for about $5 USD per set. No idea if that helps, I hope it does. Either way these are great looking stamps, hope you find them a good home.
Thank you all for your help!

Here are some more scans of the stamps and a better scan of the Weimar Republic page if anyone is interested in taking a look:

I'll post this around reddit and some philately forums, maybe someone spots something particularly interesting in the lot. :)

Also, here are a few I find very interesting:
