This thread is to post a list of ebay sellers with interesting and expensive coins, that you can absolutely trust in terms of customer service, honest grading, selling authentic coins, and pricing.

Please include a link to their ebay id, a brief background, and their primary ebay site/area of interest and I'll add it to the top post:

High End sellers (trustworthy for expensive and rare coins in excess of $5,000)

JonBlyth - Ebay UK - Generally sells British high end coins, both slabbed and unslabbed, with a focus on gold coinage. Also sells British silver and ancients from Rome and others. Starts auctions at £1 usually. Offers free tracked and insured delivery within the UK, and £12 for international post.

Mid range sellers:

Lucido_8 - Ebay UK - Sells a wide variety of world coinage with a focus on British. Does not sell ancients. Has a tendency to overgrade these days, but provides good photos. Auctions start at £1. Offers free non tracked delivery to the uk. £2.40 delivery internationally.

Aspencoins, also selling as Aspencoins2 and Aspencoins3 - Ebay USA - has a wide range of world coins on low start auctions. International shipping available for $18.
Ebay seller bbkingdom1 . Very honest.

I sell my Duplicate or Un-Needed coins on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/str/coinsandmorenj.
Here are some US sellers, all with 99-100% positive feedback:
  • aspencoins ( Feedback Score Of 70424), aspencoins2 (Feedback score 5775), and aspendcoins3 (added just recently) - Same shop, 3 sellers. Many interesting coins.
  • vette1986 (Feedback score 379645) - Well, that score speaks for itself.
  • flacoin (Feedback score 53337) - Sells both coins and banknotes
  • 2011blanca012 (Feedback score 21529) - Sells a lot of coins, ranging from very to less common coins, including silver. Condition varies. Very affordable starting prices. Ships via regular mail. Shipping is either free or $0.90 for more expensive coins. Inactive for the last week or so - hopefully just taking a vacation.
  • topworldcoins_com (Feedback score 3912) - a wide selection of modern commemoratives from around the world, including colored coins. They also have their own website and only sell discounted items on E-bay. They ship everything with signature confirmation required.
  • mcm (Feedback score 430433) - I.e., Modern Coin Mart. As the name implies, modern coins - bullion and commemoratives. Some of the most affordable bullion prices that I've seen. They usually also have slabbed coins in addition to ungraded stuff. Prices on their website are similar to their e-bay listings. One of the founders is a former NGC VP. Unfortunately, they were recently bought out by a MN company, which means I'll now have to pay sales tax on anything I buy from them.

This is a great idea! I'll add some as I come to them and I'll be sure to check back often.

  • ufomechanix (Feedback score 18215) - This guy. Lists a lot of interesting high-grade coins every day, though many of them, despite well-defined details, have hairline scratches which appear to be a result of bad (abrasive) cleaning. Reasonable starting prices, but his listings attract a lot of bidders, which means coins end up going for pretty high prices. Quick shipping.

I've bought from vette and flacoins. Both have been great.
I recommend in the UK ...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/mikep1806
as I have met him, and it was the bulk lots of coins that he sold that gave me my
start in coin collecting and there were some nice coins in there.
Another person I have met is ...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/bambi88
as he has nice coins, plus if anyone collects the cards that in UK were
in packets of tea he has some nice items on his page.

This seller has bulk lots all from one country at a time, with low postage ...

as shown last year on ...

Token collector [1600-1899] with some coins
I could recomended myself, because I just start few days ago... but it would be wrong :O

First. Just wondering why if someone is real expert (Lucido_8) doing pictures like this:

UNC coin after such thing will have "beautiful" finger print on it.

Second. I will never recommend this seller: 2011blanca012
I give her about 20 negative comments. Each for one coin that she send to me wrapped in sticky glue tape. I bought 20 UNC, and after this, after cleaning, they are not UNC anymore. 33 negative comments in past 12 months also means something.

Let's be fair here. She doesn't literally wrap coins with tape. At least, she has never done that with any coins I got from her. She tapes a small piece of cloth(?) padding over the coin to hold it in place against a piece of hard paper. It's not exactly ideal, because coin edges may still come in contact with tape, but it keeps the coin from being thrown around inside the envelope. You can't really expect much more when you buy cheap coins and pay nothing for shipping. As far as her having 33 negative feedback, for all we know, it could be due to lost/stolen mail and/or less-than-honest buyers - most of that negative feedback is from the same buyers. As a seller, you can't prevent that when shipping by regular mail with no tracking. Anyhow, that's 33 out of 20,000+ sales, 99.5% positive feedback.

Lets be fair... 33 negative comments in past 12 months, how many in all her carier, how many people let it go ? I bought mine coins from her few years ago and in that time she has also 30 - 40 negative comments. I really hope You are not calling me liar, because I know what I bought, and I know I paid additionally 0.50 $ per each coin, so no, it wasnt cheap and literally it was wraped into tape with glue and it was only time when I give to someone negative comments on eBay. I will stigmatize all situation with putting finger prints on unc coins or like she - sending coins in such stupid way.

Look, virtually all big sellers have some negative feedback and none are immune to scammers and theft, especially when shipping to other countries. That's why most sellers charge several dollars for shipping. You, as a buyer, pay extra for their time and materials, gloves, 2x2s, and tracking, assuming they even ship to your country. If you're not happy with dealers who keep their operating expenses low by using cheaper packaging materials and shipping via regular mail, so that you can pay less, well... don't buy from them. That doesn't mean they are not trustworthy. I'm not calling you anything. I'm sorry you are one of those unfortunate few who've had a bad experience, but your experience from several years back just isn't enough to sway me away from continuing to buy from her, given that everything I've bought over the last several months has been packaged better than in your case.
HoH
In my personal opinion she is bad seller and argument that all big seller has negative comments is not correct:

coinmountain (Feedback score 58339) - 1 negative
numisfeira07 (Feedback score 10315) - 0 negative
coinspector (Feedback score 18968 - 0 negative
zolota3 (Feedback score 20316) - 1 negative

1 or 0 is not 33 ! Question is why she has so many, and they have so love negative ?

I just say after that situation with tape I never bought anything from her. There are things which you do not make with coins, for example - glue. If she change something, good for her, but for me she will stay too "risky".

Yea, I said in my post that he's starting to overgrade these days. Definitely not perfect photography practice either. Still, with lots of nice genuine coins at 99p start and free postage, you can't really complain.

You can look at the pictures and make your own grade judgement!

33 negatives would put me off to be honest from big purchases. It's the kind of seller I'd trust for bargain basement stuff, but not for anything expensive.

It doesn't cost much to buy a load of 2x2's or pvc slips and just pack them in those! Probably costs less if you include packing time.
That's exactly why I listed her. Buying expensive coins from dealers like vette and flacoin isn't for everyone. She sells decent stuff at bargain prices, many at just $.49, with no/low shipping costs. You're not going to find them any cheaper unless you a) get very lucky with bulk lots, b) go to a seller like jacob... or pvilla, whose inventory is 99.999% modern junk in VF, or c) come across a seller who doesn't know what their coins are worth and lists something expensive at $.99.

But, anyhow... I don't really see any point carrying on this argument. Those who feel like it, may give her a chance and the rest will find their coins elsewhere and that's good enough for me.

I'm pleased to see a few familiar names there of sellers I've used too !

Ill add add some of my own favourites soon :)
I'm adding them to the OP as I verify them and have time by the way! :)
It would also be worth mentioning if the seller is shipping world wide. I often get disappointed when ppl talk about great eBay seller here with fair prices, just to notice that "this seller only ships to the US" or "this seller only ships to the UK". So please also add "ships world wide" or "ships only to US/UK" etc.

Thanks!

Good idea, will do that!
I can't sort links yet but I will later when I get on the computer.

Baramundiroy - or as we know him numismaticroy who is selling his collection off. He's a fantastic guy.based in the UK but given his swapping history I would say he would ship internationally.

coincascade - David is a great guy too.. I bought ALOT from him years ago and recently bought a set from him and he remembered me which I found really nice. He's selling off his cheaper coins and is moving into higher end stuff he said he's just secured a German East Africa 2 Rupie or however it's spelled. Based in the UK may ship globally.

Coinworldtv - consistently sells high end coins but they do tend to go for high prices. Based on mainland Europe but posts to the UK.

flying_bostonian - sells some pretty good coins he's based in the US but I've bought stuff from him before so will post to the UK.

jessmy_angel - a great source of Canadian colonial tokens Based in I think Canada but ships to the uk cheaply.

johnnyqc - another consistently selling fantastic coins but be prepared to pay the price of him having some of the best examples. I've bought from him before several times and it is worth while he's always got good stock. based in the UK.

mbarrcoins - I've only recently found this seller but they seem to have a fantastic range of ststock. Based in the US.

middledates - Jeremy doesn't always have coins for sale but he was a good source of evasion coins when I was into collecting those. Based in the US.

richardigr - this guy always has some good stuff for sale I've not bought much from him but I've never had an issue. Based in Scotland.

simmonsgallery - based in the UK these guys consistently have great coins at good prices.

finally..

white-light007- based in the UK this seller has a lot of coins that interest me usually and I don't mind paying the premium sometimes..
