Only perspective?

By making the description of this coin will be correct to say?

"... In the midfield, the figure of Vasco Nunez de Balboa, knee-deep in the water, facing right, holding in his left hand and a sword in his right hand a flag is observed".

Or what would be more accurate to say?

"... In the midfield, the figure of Vasco Nunez de Balboa, knee-deep in water, looking to his left, holding in his left hand and a flag in his right hand a sword is observed".

I raise this because me the following questions arise:

To what extent the majesty of the honoree figure and center of the coin is respected, when it is described?
Pulling the viewer's perspective that the reality of the position of the figure described?
And where is the thoroughness when going into great detail?

Consequently, I present a definition of what is "Objective description":

"The objective description is typical of scientific and technical texts have information purposes. Aims to show the reality as it is here, the issuer merely reflect what you see in a thorough and accurate manner, without express their own feelings. or emotions. This description uses an objective and rigorous language. "

And I call on an entertaining discussion of the topic. Excuse my English. Thank you.
Any desription is better than none.

Also, I believe this could be also described as "man with flag and sword" only. Or rather, I have seen such descriptions all over the catalogue.

Yes avoid overly florid descriptions, they are great in an illutrated sales catalog but not really suitable for a database. It's bad English anyway as my teachers used to beat into my thick skull whenever I transgressed.

I'd certainly include the name of the figure as it's relevant to the theme of the coin - "Vasco Numez de Balboa holding sword and flag" would suffice. How high up the water comes up his venerable leg is irrelevant as is which hand he holds the sword and flag.

Concise = Good, Prolix = Bad.

Nice coin though.

To answer the persective question it should always be from the viewpoint of the observer. The engraver's viewpoint is of course mirrored when the dies are created and the subjects viewpoint is merely an abstract. A skilled artist can easily trick the human eye into seeing false perspectives. The great English engraver William Hogarth was a mastrful trickster.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

Basically the description is useless if you have a good picture...as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words. The description is just there to hit all the areas that people might type into the search engine to find the coin.

a description like "Vasco de Balboa standing in water holding sword and flag" is perfectly adequate
There is a great misunderstanding in the description of that scene. :8D
Indeed, the actual situation took place on a beautiful warm late afternoon of August 1507 when Vasco Nunez de Balboa wanted to take a shower. Suddenly, with a violent gesture, he tore the shower curtain. In those days, taking a shower was to let flow a trickle of a big hose hanging from the ceiling, but Vasco was so hot and impetuous that it pierced the belly with his sword and water spilled so much that it was up to his knees!
He gets a mid-surprise mid-disillusioned attitude because, in his enthusiasm, he had forgotten to strip.
