I pulled 64 coins from everyday circulation in the area of Austin, Texas during 4-8 June 2016. This includes a day trip to San Antonio, as well.

The oldest 10% were from 1994 and earlier.

The median date was 2011.

Coins dated 2016 were 20% of all coins.

81% were from Denver and 19% were from Philadelphia.

21 shield cents, 2010-2016 (70%)
8 zinc memorial cents, 1985-2006 (27%)

Hey Cerulean here a new one. I went to wash some blankets and saw a got some state and parks quarters . So I put a 10 dollar bill in and put off to the side . And when I got home listed them. This is from a change machine (quarters). From Oshkosh Wi.

​Daryl, that's a dead-even mix of P and D. This reinforces my theory that the Mississippi River is the dividing line between the two mints.
I believe you are right.

I think the Mississippi is dividing line. But could it be we are near Chicago. I have gotten new cents rolls from my bank only D and P. I don't think it is fixed line. We are in ,maybe a gray area .

Here in Minneapolis, which has the Mississippi going right thru it, I almost exclusively see Ds on newly released coins. It often takes months before Ps start showing up.
