That's pretty cool....and horrific!
Hey Neil
That was real big here in the 1970's or 1980's They cut out everything. I have seen some very sad things done.
It is, what it is, or is it.
Making art like that has been done for years. In high school, many moons ago, I had an Eagle necklace that was the reverse of a standing liberty quarter (US). Still upset that I lost it.
The quarter dollar looks particularly poorly done. It looks really rough round the edges of the eagle.
That first one does look rough, but for $50 you would be making pretty good money off a $4 quarter, then buy about 12 more, and so on...
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins
I had a 1916 Farthing like these. Some might look ok but what a brutal thing to do to a coin that will in most cases be unc. B.
Restoration addict : Verdigris Removal : Zinc White spot removal : Iron Rust Removal : Silver brooch/necklace mount Removal
The 1912 nickel especially looked in superb condition before it was brutalized and would be worth heaps more to leave it the way it was.
