Hi,

I wonder why we can not add complete (official) unc/proof coin sets (example in the link). I know you can mark every coin of a set seperately, but that doesn't give a clear image about the complete set. It would be easier for every user if they could add or see the complete set.

Thanks for your attention/comments,

Salsaboy (who owns a lot of FDC-sets).

Agree! It would make lite a lot easier!
+1
I totally agree as well.
If I understand correctly, the coins in UNCIRCULATED mint sets are different (better) from just UNCIRCULATED coins. For example in this 2016 set (or any other previous year's set):

http://www.mint.ca/store/coins/2016-uncirculated-set-prod2601157?rcmiid=link|categorypage|2016_Uncirculated_Set|Shop-Circulation_base_&#.Vsf420Au-C0

I just can't take those coins from the packages...
Uncirculated coins in this set are different from the coins taken directly from the mint roll, which are in turn technically never were in circulation either and can be considered uncirculated. That is because description on the RCM site states that coins in a set "have been carefully selected to provide you with the best examples of their kind". But it does not say those coins have UNCIRCULATED FINISH (as it is defined in "A Charlton Standard Catalogue Canadian Coins Volume One, Numismatic Issues, 69th Edition, W.K. Cross: "... slower striking speeds and definitely more care in the loading and unloading of the press. There are few less handling marks than the circulation variety...").
This is the point where I get totally confused about Numista UNC grade. Looks like there is a possibility to have a number of UNC types of coins:
- uncirculated coin with uncirculated finish
- uncirculated coin with circulation finish
- all other finishes (Proof-Like, BU, SP, Proof, Reverse Proof, Bullion, Bullion-SP and Bullion-Proof) could be Circulated or UNC...

... eh, what was I saying.... 8~

Uncirculated is a grade. Proof-Like, BU, SP, Proof, Reverse Proof, Bullion, Bullion-SP and Bullion-Proof are finishes, NOT grades. In theory they can appear in any grade. I already found a lot of proof coins in bargain bins. They still are very nice but not UNC anymore.

I fully agree with that proposal.
The official coin sets generally have catalogue numbers, so they could easily be classified.
They do even have a value - simply add the value of the coins included in the set. So this should be no problem as well.
Often the sets are being produced during several years. This s being managed by the site as well.
They can have various grades (the sets not the coins included).
It is possible to make a reference to the catalogue for coins included in the sets.
Many people here are collecting them and/or want to swap them others don't care about them at all. But that is also true for non circulating commemoratives, essais, etc.

Hello,
There are no plans to implement a feature to list sets or combine coin pages into sets for the moment.
