What is really missing at numista - an ability to put: ♥ not only for types of the coin but for YEARS of the coin (or variety of the coin) to see who from the swappers has the certain year you are looking for; otherwise it takes too long time to check the needed year among many coins.
Sure, I'm not the only one who thought about that:)
I like it.
This feature would facilitate filtering by all desired years in other swapping lists. I guess a lot of people would like it to be implemented.
Love it!
I'm looking for 2.50 PTE 1966 - the only year I'm lacking. But since this coin was minted during 23 years, of course many has it for swap. But not necessarily 1966.
If you go to the coin you are looking for at the bottom of the page is a list of who has this coin for trade. There is an option there to see who has certain years I believe

it can work for 1 coin, yes
but when you have a massive swap to find certain years can be a headache
it needs to open every coin's sheet and check years
Wanted "Dead or alive" list could also be added as another column in Numismatic exchanges page, right after Coins that may interest him/her* column perhaps? This way users can identify with lightning speed who is the other user they need to open another swap with.

Hello,
The ideas is already tracked here: https://en.numista.com/forum/topic45624.html
I also believe it would be a nice addition, but it's quite challenging technically.
Hi,
I don't know if it is challenging or not (my knowledge on websites is pretty limited), but I was thinking that a checkbox could be added to each years and varieties of the coin type as an extra column like the "Add to my collection" button. I think it would be the simplest way, but another interesting (and probably more complicated) option would be to add the same button as the "Add to my collection" where people could specify which variety (that are not on this website) or grade they want.
This is the answer I would have written on the topic I created (https://en.numista.com/forum/topic101426.html), but, since it was rejected, I thought it would be better if I wrote it here.
I'm sorry, it would be ok, if everybody collected by year, mint and variant!
This is NOT so, hence we will always have the type collectors just entering their doubles in one or another year line, and if you have several year lines for the same year it gets horrendous
Not that that will change anything, but apply only for detailed collectors (line 2 in this message).

Hi,
I am not sure how it wouldn't be ok. In the topic I wrote, I said that the checkbox for the whole type is useful when you collect only the type, so I believe it should be kept and that other checkboxes (or buttons) for the years and varieties would be a nice addition for the ones that do collect years and varieties.
I collect world coins by type (currency and denomination which is less specific than the types on this website), but I also collect Canadian coins by years, denominations, currencies and varieties (pretty much all the circulation coins and tokens before the confederation), so that is why I think it would be useful to have the option to do both: select the type or a specific year or variety.
It has come up in several suggestions already, but apparently it would require a complete redo of the structure of the database. I also have it upvoted, but I guess it'll take some time.
Ok, my trigger was that the status is Opened, so in my view that is "Not evaluated yet". If Xavier likes it and is going to implement it, it should be Accepted, otherwise the status should be changed in Rejected
This change would be quite complex to implement and I have some doubts about the performance degradation it may introduce.
I still believe it's possible and that it would be a nice added value for people collecting by years or by mintmarks, but for the reason I just mentioned this change is low in my priority list.
Have you ever thought about the number of year lines the database might have?
I collect everything and have some 43.000 different coins already, but I would miss “present number of year lines - 43.000”, which I think would be an enormous listing!
When I look at another member's swap list, I can see directly, which year lines I miss from his doubles, and that's all I want to know, so I already have what you ask for, I don't need a “wishlist”.
For years I have had the problem that if I have a proof coin (which I prefer) I still will get the same coin (but non proof) offered on swap list.
For instance New Zealand 1967 1 Cent I have in specimen (blue label). I do not want this coin in Circulation or in the Year Set (Pink Label)
To not have this constant confusion I was trying to put a “0” in the G(ood) or in the swap field. That would not affect my coin count and it would prevent its showing on other members swap list.
Xavier replied that this request pertains to this topic so I added it here.
There is an overlap, but whereas some collectors want to find a coin (I though that was already possible with the ❤️ sign), I would like to eliminate certain coins (varieties or different packaging or proof coins).
I understand technical considerations may reduce priority on this, or even be a limiting factor, but in hopes that these can be overcome, I'm going to provide a description of my use-case for wanting this feature to be added, in case it helps.
The biggest benefit that I would personally hope to gain if this were implemented, would be more quickly and accurately identifying swap partners that have coins I need.
For example: If I already have some examples of a coin of a particular type, and I need only a single coin (or a small few) variety/year/mintmark to complete my collection for that type, adding only those years/mintmarks/varieties to my wish list (rather than adding the whole type) could be used to ‘filter out’ potential swap partners that have that type available, but not the variety/year/mintmark I need. This would (hopefully) be reflected in the "Coins that may interest me*" column of the swaps/exchanges page. A Numista user that has that type available for swap, but not the years/mintmarks/varieties I need would (hopefully) show a lower number in that column, while those that have the specific years/mintmarks/varieties I need would show a higher number.
The usefulness of this function would increase in proportion to the rarity (in terms of the number of Numista users willing to swap it) of the particular years/mintmarks/varieties added to the list.
