1928 or 1938?

I have this coin and I can't tell if its from 1828 or 1838. There is  large crack and a lot of wear where the 3 could be so I can't tell very well. What do you think?

my guess would be '28

Thats what I thought but they were only made from 1833-1843. But it really doesn't look like a "3" to me.

Confusing...??

After enhancing the image to show its lines clearer it looks like a 3 to me, it is too high and too short to be a 2 compared to the rest of the digits, The second image I have layered a transparent 3 over the top and it fits snug with the rest of the digits proportion wise.




the link you added is off, the font is different on the date.

The date do look little confusing. Here's my 1838 20 Cash coin for comparison.

Thanks for all the help guys. These dates on older coins are hard to distinguish. I have another one of these and I thought the date was 1831 but it ended up being an 1837...
