Help identifying Persian coin!!

9 posts
Hi everyone;
I've just found this Iran/Persian coin and my best guess is that it is Safavid Tahmasp Shahi but I couldn't find anything exact even on www.zeno.ru
Can anyone help me identify the date or mint? Is it really Safavid Tahmasp Shahi or I am wrong??
The back of it is almost unreadable for me cause it was glued on a paper with some kind old glue (who does that??!!  ;( .
Also any idea how to remove the glue without further damaging the coin would be appreciated.
Thanks.

- perhaps hot water
- nailpolish remover (can remove fat without damage to the patine)

Thank you so much for the reply. :D

Not nailpolish remover.  It has impurities that might cause damage to the coin.  Use acetone instead...
Yep. It is a better idea!
Indeed Geek, you are correct.
The remover I use contains ethyl acetate, alcohol, capric triglyceride
Not all remover have the same composition.
Acetone is to dangerous to use inside.

DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE ACETONE.  Acetone is highly flammable and the fumes are toxic.  Work in a highly ventilated area, preferably outside (not inside a garage) and away from any flames.  Discard the acetone properly after usage!

Thank you my friend.
After your warning; now I will use acetone with more care.
What about the coin itself? Any king, date or mint readable for you?
at the top of the first picture I can see .9o
That can be a part of the dat : AH1095 (1683AD)
A regnal year can be on the other side
