I think the Roman state issued cast coins very rarely, if at all.

The features on your coins look like melted wax, even the worthless, worn Constantinian AE3s I have all have relatively sharp, identifiable features consistent with struck coins. I think I agree that these are cast copies.

I suppose you can try weighing them and comparing the dimensions with the density of aluminum, zinc and all the other "modern" coin metals.
