I do it like this way:

2x2 holders, and 3-ring binders with 4x5 sheets.
My collection is basically a combination of all above mentioned systems:
I store a few of my coins in a wooden box with velvet trays, a lot of them are in 5x5 cm holders, some more coins are in stockbooks and my banknotes are in sheets.

It Optima Grande from Leuchtturm
Right now. I am putting full sets into picture frames. I also store them in original holsters (special sets)

I do have about 8k-10k coins just loose in a wooden bin. I plan to 2X2 them then toss in a binder with the pvc sheets readily available at any coin shop.

I will keep my Full sets on display, because I am not a poster or Fat head person. They are incorporated into my personal study, and add some nice character I think.

As for bank notes, I have them all into holders, but I plan to make a large frame collection with my random ones. I try to stay per genre or country. IE: Japanese invasion money, German money, Russian money.

Stamps, I just got into collecting them, so I am only buying blocks of 25 or more, or large random lots. They will get their own frame per block, or a frame per country.

The downfall, Eventually I will lose wall space. Right now I have 7 frames on the wall, and I am working on the 8th-15th, all coins, bills, stamps are on the way for those.

How do I get all these awesome frames? Free of course!! I go to thrift stores, and ask if they have any frames they don't want or have not sold. I usually get to check through a pile of broken glass ones, and damaged ones, I typically can pick 3 or 4 out that they give me. Also family pictures are a great place to take frames from. (Pictures go in an album not a frame :)   ) lol
