1982 Canada 25 cents error or pmd

Guy at gas station said, here I saved this for you: and gave me this quarter. It is a 1982, but it has something weird on the animals face. I took as good of a picture as I could, there is nothing wrong with the Rev.

Is this an error, or PMD (Post mint damage)?

I have seen similar things, I believe it is just damage (PMD as you call it).

I was hoping to name an error like Zombie "Animal" I have heard it is a Caribou, meant to be a moose.... idk?

Actually a moose and a caribou are two different animals. A caribou is a north American reindeer and a moose is a type of elk. Very similar and both call Canada home.
