I have this coin which I can't find in any coin books. It is a 1/4 balboa from 1983. It should be a KM 88. I have two of these, and on of them has written 0,500 ley under the R(epublica) on the obverse. I post a picture of both versions
Is this a fake or better, an unknown coin?
Hi
Øyvind from Norway. Collect circulating coins from all over the world issued after 1964.
Quote: EscudosI know that the km# 11, 19 and 25 are in silver versions with "ley 0,500" on them. But the last coin I have seen is the km 11.2 proof from 1964.
I have never found km 88 in silver or in copper nickel with "0,500 ley".
maybe you can send the referee of Panama a pm, he might know more.

eh looks like we don't have one. normally the name of a referee (profil) is at the bottom of a page in a country list. however looks like Panama doesn't have one anymore or it never had. try mailing the Panaman mint, they are the creators of those coins.
