I bought this coin off of ebay and it is a 1912 China Republic Szechuan 5 cash coin. The number is Y#441b. I am pretty sure this is silver. It is a little magnetic but not enough for me to think that it is fake. My first question is: Is it fake? and is it silver?  I cannot find a picture of a silver one on the internet at all! It took me about 4 hours to even find out where this was from and the date on it. Am I right about that even? I know it cannot be copper or bronze. Thank you to anyone who can help me!

Please a closer photo.
Fake, and very commonly faked

This coin is not silver.
Thank you so much! I kinda thought it was fake because the look of it is not of good quality! Thank you for saving me a headache later on! I am new to coin collecting so trying to learn all I can! I got a few good coins out of this lot so I did good!
Welcome to Numista.

Try starting with more common coins, even coins that circulate in your country at moment. That gives a good learning lesson about collecting.
Don't trust eBay too much, not what the seller says about rareness and all that sort of thing anyway. Unless you know for sure.

I hope you have as much fun collecting as I have, I'm still feeling very newbie myself too.
I bought this coin in with a lot of other coins. I got lucky though and found a 1915 Austrian 100 corona gold coin worth a lot! So I was happy about that. I love collecting coins! So neat and just imagining who held that coin and what it went through to get to lonely old maryland, USA! Love collecting the ww2 era coins! Have a couple nazi coins! So infatuated with the holocaust....wanting to learn more and more about coins and where they come from and what was going on at that time when they were minted...but that coin was definitely fake...lol...I looked at it closer and it was so uneven on the thickness it was kinda funny that I didn't even notice it lol....but thanks for all the help! I'm sure I will be posting again soon!
I doubt any lot of coins off eBay would include a real valuable gold coin with them, do you have pictures of that too?

I bought this off of a guy on ebay with about 20 or so other coins. I paid $20 for the lot but since he shipped it badly he gave it to me for $10! Not a bad deal lol. This is .900 gold! Could never be this lucky again!
There are lots of fake of this coin, weight and dimensions are needed.
For example:

Someone who  claims this is 0.900 gold would never sell it this low unless it was a fake.

If it's too good to be true, it probably is. Be patient and you will one day find that treasure in a coin lot, but for a gold coin this is quite unlikely to happen.
I bought this off of a guy in a lot of about 25 coins. He was a new seller and said it was an estate find and he didn't know anything about them. He never sold coins on ebay before so he didn't know what they were worth. It is genuine. It is gold. I guess luck does happen because I was the lucky one to buy this from someone who didn't know what they had. I didn't know either until I was doing research on my coins.
