Coin rim flattened

I tried to find the original post where the person wanted to know what caused the flattening or mushrooming of the coins edge.

Here is a YouTube video that might really sicken some coin folk, but this is what I think someone started to do with his coin and quit.

Any respectable Smithy always leaves some dirt around on purpose.  It's advertising.
