#1, even though I don't 100% understand what it is, it still looks pretty cool!

#1 is mine and I can explain it a bit: it was a penny specially produced for the secret society of the Royal Arch Masons, a branch of the Freemasons. They would be produced for most lodges of the R.A.M. (tons of varieties exist within Canada, and all of them are different in some way), and given to members. Each individual member would carve a special mark in the middle of one side - mine looks like the initials NB. Then, they were traded between members to show their brotherhood. So, it is a one-of-a-kind unique item.
How did I get it? My great-grandfather was a Mason, and he must have traded his penny to get this one - Drumheller, Alberta was not his lodge, so that means his own unique token is out there somewhere. They are a fascinating set of tokens to collect, and also very intriguing and mysterious

Love it.

Dptashny, I think you made a mistake in counting the votes. More than half of the people voted for the first token...... and yet the second one won?
