I inherited this coin/medal from my parents' collection.
I only know the Jawi alphabet stating 1524.
Could someone help to identify this coin/medal? What does it worth?
Well, I've looked through the Standard Catalog of world coins 1901-2000, and this coin is not in the Turkish and Ottoman section, nor is it in the Malaya/Malaysia/Malayan kingdoms section. But of course, this Catalog only has coins dating from 1901.
So that should narrow down your search slightly, this coin probably predates the 20th century. It is unlikely that this coin is from the Turkish Republic because Ataturk instituted the latinization of the Turkish alphabet in 1929, and they would not use this script.
interesting puzzle. I read the date as 1534 or 1524 but on what calendar? It cannot be on the Islamic calendar, because that would be way in the future. On the Gregorian calendar? could it be that old? maybe it commemorates an event in 1534? or 1524?

It's from the 20th century for sure.
The reason why it wasn't in World Coins is because it's not a coin.

Hi,
I have the exact same coin and looking for the origin as well.
First I thought it was one of those Yassin token money but somehow after some research it wasn't listed as those. Have you got any news?
Cheers.
Do checkout my coins for trade. Also I have some stamps to trade with coins.
Guy on the left looks ancient egyptean. My first thought is that it's a token commemorating some event from the Bible, 1524 years anniversary ???? In the 1520s BC, the Hebrews settled in Egypt.
