Does anyone know if money (coins or bills) that is produced in Fiji still has Queen Elizabeth on it? I heard that the Fijian government took Queen Elizabeth off of ALL money to be produced for 2013. Is this true?
They have been an independent nation since the end of the British Empire, the Commonwealth is just a group of mainly ex-empire nations in an economic alliance similar to that of the EU. Fiji has been suspended from the Commonwealth for some reason or another, and has removed the Queen from their currency.

No they didn't get suspended after the Coup. They got suspended after George Bananarama's actions after the coup. He kicked all foreign ambassadors and media out of the country, claimed he wanted democratic elections but refused to set a date within 5 years, and general stories of attrocities as his bully boys reign Fiji with an iron fist.
We have a bit more detail on the happenings of Fiji over here, being one of their closer neighbours. My wife is from there too. We spent a lot of time and money getting her father out of Fiji and over here, things aren't very good for people of Indian ethnicity in Fiji at the moment.
Wow !
I thought former colonies had a lot of Indian and African nationals living there for generations I mean back in the days of slaves and soldiers of the empire these people settled :S terrible to go against your own kind !
