Identifying possible Samanid dynasty copper Fals (سامانیان)

1 post • viewed 59 times

Hello,

I’d appreciate any help in identifying this coin:

Weight: 1.4 g
Diameter longest side: 20 mm
Diameter shortest side: 18.5 mm
Thickness: 0.7 mm
Non magnetic

I searched the catalog, and it’s very similar to the existing examples of Samanid dynasty copper Fals, but none match the inscriptions exactly: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/index.php?e=samanid_dynasty&r=&st=all&cat=y&im1=&im2=&ru=&ie=&ca=3&no=&v=&a=&dg=&i=&b=&m=3&f=&t=&t2=&w=&mt=&u=&g=

The main discrepancy I find is that none have a horizontal line below the round character on one of the faces:

If you have any information about this coin, it’s authenticity or valuation, I would highly appreciate it. I would also appreciate any insight in to the meaning of the inscriptions or it’s history. I’m a beginner coin collector and would love to know more about this piece.

Thank you in advance!
