I've been trying to figure out what kind of counterstamp(if that's what it is) this is for a while, no success. Stamped on an 1856 Gulden from Baden KM#235. I'd appreciate any clues or help! Thank you. -Tommy

Hello and welcome to Numista —

This private countermark will most likely never be identified. The only faint hope is that the style of the 3 is quite elaborate and uncommon, but even this won't help much at all. In the case of a single digit, unfortunately it brings the value of the coin down.

If it was a name, there would be a better chance of identification, even though most names cannot be identified with certainty.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I figured it'd be very difficult or close to impossible to do so, but wanted to ask and see if anyone had any ideas. Thank you!
