Hi,

I would like to kindly ask for your assistance in identifying a silver coin in my possession. I believe I may have correctly determined its type, but I am having difficulty establishing the exact year of minting.

1354-1355?: United Kingdom ½ Groat - Edward III. The coin weighs 1.82 grams.

Any guidance or expertise you could offer would be greatly appreciated. If needed, I would be happy to provide additional photographs or details to support the identification process.

Thank you in advance for your time and help.

Hello,

I believe your coin is not Edward iii but Henry iv. Halfgroat of Calais. Nice coin in good condition.

The first link is for Edward III half groats, the second link is for Henry IV.

Just FYI, the United Kingdom was not formed until 1707, the correct term for this period is England.

Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.

It might be a coin issued during Edward VI’s time.
I found a similar example in the book Coins of England, which closely resembles the one in question.
