I found this coin at an antique mall for $14, which was probably more than it was worth but it caught my eye. Clearly the $750 seemed to be outlandish, but I believe it was a coin from the Maldives, which was what I was hoping for. Now that I have identified it, it clearly seems to be a copy of this coin from Kutch. But it does not make any sense. Maldives? Aluminum? $750? Why would a cheap Indian from the 1970s be copied in aluminum?
I can't seem to find any information about this coin.
