Don't forget about the Sede Vacante that occurred between the reigns of Pope Francis I & Pope Leo XIV.
I don't know if any coins were released in the 2025 Sede Vacante period.

Based on history they will issue an official Sede Vacante coin later. There's also a post on World of Coins saying a 2 Euro SV coin will be issued but it doesn't link to a source.
We do not have time machines to prove that new pope will have coins. Best justification for creating ruling authority in numista is to have item issued by said authority. If he does not have coins, we can wait for country to issue them. Maybe return with new request once you got item that needs it.

Yes, as stated explicitly in the Numista guidelines.
I am eagerly awaiting the first issue of a coin with an American monarch 😁.
Someone has posted a schematic picture of the obverse of a 2 Euros for the 2025 Sede Vacante period.
The Camerlengo's name needs addition as a ruling authority as well.

Tokens or bullion aren't good enough for you, it needs to be a coin?
Nah, I am strictly a coin guy. Not much appetite for modern, but I might make an exception.
Still nothing official on the Vatican website.
And another curious fact related to BCNumismatics' post … The camerlengo is another American. We could have two consecutive ruling authorities for Vatican City who are American. If the coins are issued as expected.
