Oxyde on japanese uncirculated coins

5 posts • viewed 99 times

Hi everyone,

I would like your opinion about my options regarding these coins. These are supposedly uncirculated coins but the oxidation makes them worse than some circulating coins…

What do you think I should do with them?

Well, they still have a face value…

Thanks

Philippe

PVC damage? If so, you'll need to remove and clean since it will get worse.

Just clean them somehow and spend them. It will not be a big deal to find better ones.

...you can run,  but you can't hide...

You have to be extremely lucky to find an old style set like this without PVC damage to the coins with copper.
It's unfortunate but many mints at the time used this material.

Thanks everyone!

I am new into this hobby and I didn't know about PVC damage on coins!! I wasn't expecting this!
