I found a coin in my change today that is odd. It is a penny that is also a dime. No date as it is both reverse sides of each coin. I can't find anything online can someone offer their expertise on this odd find, please?
The edge does show a seam. These sides are two different metals, so it looks like two coins were sanded down and glued together. Also the outer edge of the cent has been removed so it can match the smaller diameter of the dime.
I agree with Seeker55. As soon as I saw the photos, I remembered a magic kit I had as a kid that had one of those in it. There were several slight of hand tricks that used that coin. Nice find!
Some idiot out there decided to stick two coins together, either out of curiosity or because they thought they could trick some other idiot into buying it!
Then they used it to buy something, I wonder which side they used - the 10cent or the 1Cent side? Any honest shopkeeper should have taken it out and redeemed it at the bank and not given it to you in your change.
