Series dedicated to the Chinese zodiac. The Chinese zodiac is a traditional classification scheme based on the Chinese calendar that assigns an animal and its reputed attributes to each year in a repeating twelve-year cycle. Chinese folkway held that one's personality is related to the attributes of their zodiac animal. The twelve zodiac signs are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.
The series consists of 50 Cents silver and 1 Dollar aluminium bronze coins, coloured, issued by the Perth Mint from 2012. The obverses depict the effigy of the ruling authority, and the reverses depict the zodiac coloured baby animal for the issuing year. Each silver coin is presented in a box.
