Unknown Roman Coin [solved]

3 posts • viewed 55 times

Hello all,

This is a Roman Coin that was found in a recently lot of coins that I bought and I cannot seem to place where it is from.

It is around 22mm in diameter and 4mm in thickness. It is a copper coin and has some good details despite the wear. The obverse shows an emperor facing left but much of the lettering has been lost. The reverse has much more information with a standard/banner at left and a deity (I think Athena) at Right with her right arm extended and pointing while carrying a shield in her right hand.

Hope this helps!
