Pre-Federal New Jersey United States? [solved]

Is this coin the same as N#13419 or is it something else?

My coin is a little lighter (only 9.2g) and about 27-28 mm. If it is the correct coin and not a copy or something else entirely, is it too worn to determine which variation it is?

Thanks!

The discrepancy in weight and diameter seem reasonable considering the extensive wear.

Theres an “8” visible in the year, followed by a more worn number; I want to say it’s a 7, making the year 1787. As for what variety I am not sure.

Thanks soldf1979! There was a concern that it isn't the right coin since not every line of the plow matches the picture in Numista, but I know so little about these coins that I don't know how different a coin can be and still be considered the same coin.

Do take my answers with a grain of salt, I am just an amateur who likes researching and learning about new coins! :)

If you look at the article linked on the numista page, you'll see that there is quite the variety of plows, horses and shields. For example:

Agreed, I think I am seeing 1787 as well and it is definitely genuine. The condition of yours is not unusual for these types. I have a few that I have had for years and never really felt I had precisely identified any one of them. I entered  only one into the Numista catalog and I still feel it is only my best guess as to which variety it is. I altered the lighting of  your example to possibly help in better identifying exactly what it is you have.

Thanks everyone! I’ve been reading all the information and it makes the coin even better! Museum quality coins are great for museums but I like coins that were participants in the historical events. Thanks!
