Hi guys!

I'm currently adding some Styrian coins and realised that the coins of Ferdinand I. are all under “austrian empire”.

This is probably a dilemma someone has already faced but you know Ferdinand I. only became holy roman emperor in 1558 in contrast to him becoming archduke of Innerösterreich (styria, carinthia and others) and Niederösterreich (tyrol basically) in 1522. Should we continue listing all of his coins under “austrian empire” or do you want to have it more accurate but less convenient and just keep it how it is?

Many coins minted in prague are for example listed under “bohemia” and same goes for hungary and silesia and transylvania for other emperors. So I think it would make sense to change his Graz mint coins when he was archduke to “Styria” too.

I am very biased on styrian coins so I would definitely want his coins until he was emperor that were minted in Graz to be listed under “Styria” to make things more complete.

Can you please give some links as example and also link where you would move what? It helps :-)

Upon further examination: putting the coins of Ferdinand I. where they should actually be would be a huge mess.

You would need to put his st. veit and klagenfurt mint coins into “carinthia”, his carnolia coins into “carnolia” (which doesn't exist and probably shouldnt because it was never independent) and put his tyrol coins into “tyrol” and his Linz coins into “upper austria” etc.

Just keeping them all in “austrian empire” makes more sense. I take back my request to change that.
