Hi everyone, on Saturday I'll land in Seoul for a few days and I was wondering if someone had some experience visiting the bank of Korea to get UNC notes.
Same thing about Japan. I'll be there for 2 weeks after Korea.
Thanks a lot!

When I lived there, I was able to go to any bank branch and get unc notes from the atms.
Hi! Thanks for the data.
In Korea I easily found UNC notes at money exchange office. Not everywhere but it didn't take me long.
Btw, are you talking about Korea or Japan?
The bank of Japan got back to me by email saying that they don't have a cashier to buy/exchange UNC notes. I will try at any normal bank and exchange office.
On a side note, I visited the money museum in Seoul and I recommend it to everyone (adults and kids).
In Japan there are many occasions were you gift money that has to be unused and pristine so there have to be ways to get UNC notes maybe at least from a bank (you most likely will have to be a costumer though) or even out of the ATM.

If you are lucky, maybe Japan will issue the new banknotes by the time you arrive there.

Unfortunately they'll only do that in July. 😭 I'll be there on Saturday eheheh
Taejon has a money museum as well…and it is near where the coins and banknotes are created.
Used time zone is UTC+2:00.
Current time is 08:18.
