This January's new members added 223,000 coins into their collections, including two enterprising users who both added more than 18,000 coins each. 23% of January's new users appear to be active and 10% are not publicly visible.
3,892 of January's new members selected a nation. 653 are American, 444 are French, 440 are South African, 195 are Indian, 170 are Filipino, and 164 are British. 142 nations are represented this month, and 88 of them have added at least one coin to their collections.
There were notable surges in memberships from Algeria, Argentina, Belgium, Botswana, Bulgaria, Congo, Dominican Republic, Eswatini, France, Georgian Republic, Greece, Italy, Madagascar, Mexico, Namibia, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, Tunisia, United States of America, Yemen and Zimbabwe.
Afghanistan, Alderney, American Samoa, Angola, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Cambodia, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Dominica, Ethiopia, Haiti, Isle of Man, Jamaica, Jersey, Laos, Maldives, Montenegro, New Caledonia, Niger, Oman, Qatar, Saint Martin, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Togo, U.S. Virgin Islands and Uzbekistan each gained one new member.
Mexico passed the Netherlands for 17th rank.
Of the top 30 nations, South Africa grew the fastest in January (9.4% increase), while Portugal grew the slowest (0.9%). The USA grew by 1.5% and France grew by 1.4%.
