The end of the world...take 2!

Well, the moment that Numista collapsed last night I thought the end of the world had come. Several thousand members, some friends, and potential swap partners...gone down the drain. I had saved my collection some days before, much like someone stocks their larder before a storm, or sandbags their home before the flood.

When did Noah build the ark?

Before the rain, before the rain.

Anyway, so the blackout was not so cool...but the site is back: I want you all to know that Xavier has been a bit too busy and he is looking to delegate to the team. This is not like I have first hand information but second hand...but I am sure as Xavier has affirmed on the French side (his mother tongue) that he would not let Numista fall to ruin.

If you haven't already done so, refresh the page that gives you the SQL error.

As I have been told many times in my work place: KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON.
The same happened to me last night. Many black thought crossed my mind... but everything is back and running.
Thanks to the team

Yes, I put myself to bed with many black thoughts too ( I like that expression)!
I'm pleased that things are back on track-ish.
Being involved with software development for 20+ years my only thoughts were "Oh, well, db servers crushed at he hosting company. They should be up from their backups in a few hours. Go to bed now and check again in the morning. $4it happens!"  :O
Thank goodness everything is working fine again.

When it went down I was several hours into a cataloging session with over 10 kilos of coins still left to sort.. I admit I was unsure what to do with myself and was a bit overcome with that feeling of impending doom.  :snif:
"Did I lose all that work?" ;(
"Would I have to start over when Numista comes back up?" B.
"Will Numista even return?" :(
"What did I do before Numista?" :°
"Did Numista get washed away by a huge tidal wave, and is it headed towards me?" :o

Ahh, it's like it was all just a bad dream now...
So many coins... So little time...
I must have missed it.  I tried clicking on a link from my e-mail telling me I had a new Numista message and I got the error page.  I went directly into Numista and then into my messages from there and it worked fine.
Was on a cruise to nowhere with no Internet connection, so I missed this drama.  LOL
Lucky you ! I was fretting like a puppy on its first night away from its mother !
