Hi,

I submitted a new coin (1798 1 Kreuzer from Nuremburg) and I still havent heard back from the referee whether or not it has been approved.

How can I poke them to look at and approve this addition to the catalog?

Thank you!

I made 11 modification requests 24 days ago. Nothing has happened yet.

So, unfortunately, it's not unusal for long waiting periods.

As a referee it takes time to approve a request. Speaking for myself, here are some things that delay a request.

Just my personal life (work, family, holidays)

May have to edit the photos (which takes time and can not be done on my phone)

Research in a reference I own (locating the submission in the references)

Research in a reference I do not own (Requesting someone else help in researching a submission and then waiting on a reply)

I find many submissions with the source “from my personal collection” as a source, or something similar. Then I have to search the web or other material for all the information that the member did to identify their own submission.

That is just what I have experienced as a referee.

Referee for Exonumia from United States

The longest I had was half a year, so chill a bit and wait. It will be processed eventually.

I have a request from 43 days and stills pending, but yesterday I had one that was accepted in minutes, that is part of a collaborative work of the referees.

Since it is a voluntary work, I understand each referee have their own time and some countries still with no referees at all, but I guess there is a “general pile” for requests.

My record was 3 months in a greek coin, well, coin collecting is not a hobby for hurries.
