How to evaluate/balance a swap offer? [solved]

5 posts • viewed 328 times

Hello,

I am new to Numista swapping realm and I was wondering how both parties can balance the swap fi they are not very familiar with the actual value and rarity of each of coins? Checking the evaluation price for each coin is a very tedious task.

Can someone help by providing details on how they achieve this?

Thank you,

Miro

I was about to write something, but I remembered that I already posted a similar response. You can find it here - https://en.numista.com/forum/topic129429.html

You will not find a single approach, everyone will be different, and balancing the swap usually is the most complicated thing. And don't give up or take it personally if you don't agree with someone. It will happen and you just need to understand it. Don't fool yourself by others and receive less coins, but also don't take advantage of other people, try to be fair.

I only check the values of silver coins. If they are base metal coins I just swap 1 to 1.

Thank you all for your help and support. The information you have provided was very helpful. I thought that there was some sort of standard when swapping but it turns out that it is mostly an agreement between the two parties.

Yes,

agreement is important, not balancing.

The sence of a swap is to get some coins, which a swap partner could get easier, cheaper or multiple. Viece versa you are offering items, which you got relatively easy, cheap or multiple.
