I have just started using Numista and I like it for it's convenience of a place to both identify and organize my collection.  However, I find that I am missing a unique identifier for each item in my collection.  For example, I have a number of US Mercury Dimes and there is no way to tell them apart in my Numista collection.     Using the api to retrieve the collection there are unique record identifiers assigned by Numista to each item but there appears to be no way to view them on the website.

This number exists, it is the “Numista type number” (N#). See https://en.numista.com/help/what-is-the-n-number-visible-in-the-catalogue-33.html

Thanks for the reply!   However, the Numista Type number is specific to a coin in Numista's catalog, not my specific collection.  So all of the US Mercury dimes in my collection would all have the same Numista type number.   I would like a unique identifier specific to a particular coin in my collection, so each of my Mercury dimes would have a unique number.

How do you store your collection? Whitman Mercury dime book? 2x2 and in pages?

Reason I ask is you could identify your collection with any designation of your choosing in private comments. As a collector of Exonumia I keep all of mine in 2.5x2.5, 2x2 or 1.5x1.5 holders and in either 12, 20 or 30 pocket pages. Depending on the size of the item. Anyway, I have several binders A-M and each item has a designated location. For instance this item N#199517 is located in G-1-5 for me. Which is book G, page 1, slot 5.  You could then see all of your Mercury dimes with the designation you provided when you export to an excel spreadsheet.

Just an idea that I use

Ok. This not exists, at least publicly.

You can have personal comment, so you can create that.

That will work!   I can also retrieve and push that via the api.   Perfect

Thanks!
