Help needed to identify if the coin is original. It has all the attributes of a Hejaz ¼ Qirsh coin, year 1334/8 (KM25). However, the year is 1331/8. Is it an error or some other options?
Dear Andy, thank you for the reply! I have given it another try… It is the best I could do in the night. You are correct, it is not the same as the first 1, but it does not look like a 4 either.
The better photo helps. Look at the denomination ¼ in the “shield” shape at the bottom of the photo. The 4 there is similar to the last digit of the date. They seem to be using a somewhat unusual symbol for 4, and I suspect the die is defective for the last digit of the date. So I do think your coin is dated 1334/8.
