May I be the first to say how enjoyable the coin contest is proving. I think this is the kind of thing we need more of to bring the Numista forum back to life.

I can imagine how much time and effort you have put in. I'm only sorry that I was only able to take part to a limited degree.

Well done Sir, you deserve a round of applause.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.
Make Numismatics Great Again!
I agree.....great job dptashny and great fun.....
Thanks so much for the contest and thanks for accepting my horrible coin!

Here here, I'm looking forward to the next round.
Yes, I like reading everyone's reasons for selecting a coin. Especially eminem, I find that most of the time I am selecting a coin for the exact same reason he is.
Its been a very good contest, I hope it builds steam and more people get involved. I would love to see some new names in the forums.
Here's a beer for you, dptashny, Cheers......well, I guess I'll just have to drink it for you :wiz:
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins
Dr.math.. You think that's bad wait until the Sierra Leone coin comes up ! Lol

You entered a Sierra Leone coin too? We may have a competition here!
+1

I wish though there would be a better voting tools in the forum (like many other forums have). Would prevent long threads and provide "running totals" right away.

The third round has been postponed due to thanksgiving, it will begin tomorrow.
Good job on the third round! I was the first to post on all of them! I like the way the MPCC is shaping up!
Yeah it's great, didnt realise it was turkey day..

Did you have to take out some of the crappier condition coins (Sierra Leone) in order to make the voting even ?

There will be many more sub-rounds.
Ahh, I thought that maybe the worst coins were left out l

No, their keywords are just last in the alphabet. Complete fluke.

Haha if they were my Dominican Republic coin wouldn't have made it.
lol, yeah true at least there's better representation in the link - it's the coin overall you vote for not the actual coin that's pictured anyway.
What a terrible idea this contest has been from the start. It seems to bring out the worst in people. Have you seen some of the politically incorrect off topic comments people are making during voting? It has generated some of the worst looking and worst condition coins I've ever seen. The photos and scans of some of the coins are atrocious. I'm afraid of the outcome. (8

I'm kidding, of course, except the parts about the condition of some of the coins and about some of the scans/photos, those parts are evidently true. :P
