ex instead of Aluminium (british) it can be Aluminum (American). i've found this very frustrating when searching coins in the catalogue when it says no results. I hope others find this useful and can help this be implemented.

The search should just convert (Aluminum) to the alloy one used internally (Aluminium) in the database and search with that.

There is a work-in-progress to make certain denomination spellings identical when searching . Adding Aluminium/Aluminum to the list might be an appropriate solution to this issue.

This sounds like a good idea, this was kind of what I was suggesting, just couldn't find the right words to describe it per se.
