Miscellaneous sets and souvenir sheets (Upper Volta, Madagascar, Liberia, Guinea, Afghanistan, Romania, Panama, Colombia)

The sovereign of a German state was in command of the Prussian army in 1806 and was fatally wounded in a battle with the French. About a month after being wounded, he died in a town that is now part of Hamburg. What part of his anatomy was lost due to the wound?

The winning entry will be the first received at or before 3 PM, December 1, 2022, eastern US time. If no correct entry is received, the first answer giving the sovereign's title as generally presented in English language sources will win. If that information is not given, the first entry will win. My decision as to the winner will be final. Good luck to all who choose to participate. The competition is open to everyone.

Congratulations, rsirian1! You have very good searching skills to find this so quickly. Did you read that his 4th son succeeded him because the first 3 sons either died or were imbeciles or blind (or both)? The oldest had been in line for succession despite being imbecilic but died earlier.

Stamps on their way shortly.

Thanks. I did read about his sons.  His wife was his second cousin which I guess isn't too bad for royalty.

Nice sets!  Thanks, Will!
