Gibraltar used the ‘Wren Farthing’ reverse design to commemorate 50 Years of Decimal Currency in the U.K. on a ½ Crown medal-coin - which is this one;

There are so many and I love anything with eagles. Birds of Paradise as well. I find these particularly well done for circulation type coins.

Hi all:

Chile has his heraldric bird -the Condor- in different positions ond attitudes:

8 REALES 1848, with the “Condor destroying the chains of captivity”

1 PESO 1853, with  “Condor holding shield” right

50 CENTAVOS 1854, with “flying Condor”, known in Chile as “Paloma” because of the resamblance to a pigeon.

1 PESO 1881, with “Condor holding shield” left

1PESO 1915, with "Condor preparing to take off"

10 CENTESIMOS (de Escudo) 1960, with another “flying Condor”

100 ESCUDOS 1975, with "Condor taking off"

Colombia and Ecuador also have the Condor in their national arms:

COLOMBIA, 20 PESOS 2003

ECUADOR, 1 SUCRE 1897

And Peru also has the condor depicted in some coins:

PERU, 8 REALES 1822, with the Condor as shield holder together with a vicugna

PERU, 5 NUEVOS SOLES 1994, with the stylized Condor of the petroglyphes in the Nazca desert.

Best regards and happy hollidays

Me too! For years and years I've been wanting them. It almost feels a little unreal that I actually have one now. 😇
