I've just got this great cleaning tip from Numista member Dutchgalego:
1) Make a bath with just cleaning vinegar (that stuff that you use for cleaning bathrooms, toilets, etc).
2) Wait about 10 - 15 minutes
3) Clean your coin(s) with cold water and soap
4) Polish them with a clean cloth
5) Watch the fantastic effect!
It's very easy, and the result is fanatastic.
But it isn't the only cleaning method, so do you have any good cleaning tips that you'd like to share with us?

Or no cleaning at all. Because if you clean your coins with substances, the chances are that you're removing the patina and inevitably the value, and that ain't good.

That's true, but if you have common worldcoins and aren't worth much and you prefer shiny coins, then could cleaning tips be very useful.

It really gets to me how you mention cleaning and everyone jumps on your back if the coinplaces said yeah clean your coins this would be a totally different thread. Nobody is gunna clean a coin that they can see.. I've cleaned otherwise ruined and worthless coins and it's only increased their value if anything!
Cleaning can cause damage then again it might improve the coin depending on the state of the coin. Polishing on the other hand is absolutely guaranteed to damage your coin. So if you wish to preserve your coins in their best possible state or if you wish to keep any financial value they have do not polish coins ever.

Do not clean valuable coins. As for the rest of the coins, do what you prefer.
