Unusual Banknotes

This Romanian 1999 2000 Lei polymer note is the most unusual note I have. It has 2 windows beautiful depictions of the solar eclipse and the route it took across the country. The most interesting feature is shining a laser through one of the windows projects an eclipse on a wall. Does anyone know of any other interesting notes like this or just a very unusual note.

That's a beauty @rmuniak & a science teacher's dream note!  You've suddenly made me want to get one!

I feel that most of today's polymer banknotes are jam-packed with cool security features & these notes continue to surprise (so many of the security features are so well hidden that they remind me of today's video game's "easter eggs,") They're always a nice surprise & sometimes it takes a bit of tinkering to actually discover (see) them!

"Half-Asleep Chris" does a great video on Canada's 1st polymer notes here.  There are so many security features within these notes that some aren't mentioned by the BOC (like the # seen when looking through the Maple Leaf).  This is shown briefly on the BOC youtube video introducing the new series.  Chris also covers how when you shine a laser light through the maple leaf that the denomination is also shown (which kicked up a bit of a stir 10 years ago when the $50/$100 were first introduced amongst us diehard collectors).

One that I found some irony in  is the Chinese 50 yuan. If you shine a black light on it the image of  the sun shines over the Potala. This is the light of the Dalai Lama shining on the world. A bit of irony for a country that suppresses the human rights of so many people.

You can shine a laser thru the Chinese polymer 100 yuan and a dragon will appear on the wall.  Also…the new Zealand 10 commem polymer has a bit of a reveal when you roll it up a certain way and look at a part of the note thru the window of the note.

A very cool note! I always liked the map of Romania, shaped like a fish.

Very interesting thread. I attempted to photograph the eclipse through the Romanian note.

hi.

I found Austalia 5 very interesting as the banknote is waved the banknote one feel the bird (Eastern Spinebill) is flapping.

One more banknote which I found unique is Lebanon 1000 having bar code on banknote.

Similar banknote is Naira 100 having QRC (Quick Response Code) when scanned leads users to a website about Nigeria's history
