Hello everyone, nice to be here!😃

My name is Damian and this is my first post.

I want to ask you guys about two my coins.

I bought them together with antique vases as a side buy.

I do not pay much so… nothing happens if they are fake.

One of them is bigger and stands there Shen Si Province on one side, on another side same thing but in Chinese symbols .

What I find on internet this coin is different from another dollars coz have in Chinese Provincial Shen Si Province not only Shen Si Province.

This coin have beautiful patina ( one side not anymore coz I clean to check real color).

So looks old for me, and has very sharp and good quality writing, almost like new coins.

Second one is 50 cent if I find it good in web.

Please good people tell me what I have 😃

Hello, welcome abord 🤪

The Numista sheet indicates it is a pattern so you won't have a chance to get a genuine chance

However there are copies on the web, silver or not silver

and then, for the silver patina, you may experiment 😜there are numperous color you can reach …

Thanks Frenchlover, I was thinking maybe….. coz I can't find exactly same coins anywhere with this Chinese writing. But I will keep them as I collect everything with Chinese dragons and coins will fitt to my collection even if they are fake 🤥.

Thanks again

While the English side says Shen-Si on you first coin, the Chinese side actually says Shanxi Province. So yes it is likely just a bad counterfeit. The second coin is a suspicious looking Yunnan 50 cents restrike.

thanks, that's what interested me, i have no knowledge of coins.  And the other coin, what's the suspect in it, I want to know for future?

And one more thing, did there was any provincial shen Si Province coins ever made? Coz I saw it somewhere when I was looking for answers?

Sorry I understand you wrong you mean there 2 different provinces one is shen si, and another is shanxi and that are 2 different provinces on this coin yes?

I find on another website that this Chinese writing means Provincial Shan- Si Province that why I ask in another question about provincial coins. Sorry this is complicated for me but I really like to understand. I pay almost nothing, I just like to know.

That dotted inner ring looks uneven. Maybe it's just badly struck. You can try the magnet test to see if they stuck and weight them.

Yes, this could be confusing. Shan-Si (Shanxi) and Shen-Si were two different provinces. The Chinese side of your first coin is marked “Shan-Si” and they never made a “7 mace 2 candareens” coin in that province.  On the English side, Shen-Si only made limited pattern “7 mace 2 candareens” coin .

It's 13.29 grams

And 3,3cm

Do not react with magnet

And easy wrote on paper like with pencil

Both coin do that like rest silver things I have,

I guess both are silver

… as I collect everything with Chinese dragons and coins …

You might have near missed the dragon of the year 🤣

The very approximate dotted inner ring  is a characteristic of the copies

You might also compare the callygraphy . Beyond the wear, they are very different.

1st coin is definitely a fantasy coin. SHAN-XI Provence never minted Silver coins officially (this Provence was old school only believe in cash coins) , one known example were minted by private mint.

Thanks for everyone, great knowledge you guys have, I guess I will never more look for Chinese coins , it's so many fakes that is almost not possible to score real one.

Take care
